Nambimadom exports three spices from three parts of the plant: cardamom pods, clove buds, and nutmeg seeds. Each is harvested at a different moment and dried by its own method, which is why we plan them one by one. Agro products are sourced on request.
Pods keep scent inside the seed, buds keep it in oil, and nutmeg keeps it behind a hard shell. Each needs care to stay fragrant.
Clove buds must be picked before they open, and cardamom ripens unevenly on the plant, so pickers return several times. Timing decides final quality here.
Cardamom is graded by pod size and colour, clove by stem content and plump heads, nutmeg by nut size. Buyers pick the grade that fits.
